Create and Manage Enom Email Mailboxes

Enom hosted email lets you create professional mailboxes on a domain you manage, each with its own address, password, and storage. This article walks you through creating a mailbox, editing its details, suspending access, and deleting a mailbox you no longer need. You manage all of these actions from the Email & Apps area of your Enom account.

About hosted mailboxes

A hosted mailbox is a full email account (for example, you@yourdomain.com) that sends and receives mail through Enom's email platform. Mailboxes can be accessed through Enom Webmail or any standard mail client over POP or IMAP. Each mailbox is assigned a storage size; see Mailbox Sizes, Quotas, and Upgrades for the available tiers.

Before you begin

  • Confirm that the email service is active on the domain. If you have not set up email on the domain yet, start with Getting Started with Enom Email Service.
  • Have the desired mailbox address and a strong password ready.

Choose passwords that are unique to each mailbox and meet Enom's complexity requirements.

Step 1: Open the mailbox management area

  1. Sign in to your Enom account.
  2. Go to Email & Apps.
  3. Under Basic email, select the domain you want to work with and click Manage.

Step 2: Create a mailbox

  1. On the mailbox management page, click Create mailbox (or the equivalent add option).
  2. Enter the mailbox address — the part before the @ for the selected domain.
  3. Set a password that meets the complexity requirements.
  4. Select a mailbox size if you are prompted to choose a storage tier.
  5. Click Save (or Create) to provision the mailbox.

Step 3: Edit, suspend, or delete a mailbox

From the same mailbox management page, locate the mailbox in the list and choose the action you need.

Edit a mailbox

  1. Select the mailbox and choose Edit.
  2. Update the password or other available settings.
  3. Click Save.

Suspend a mailbox

Suspending a mailbox blocks sign-in and mail delivery without deleting stored messages, which is useful when you need to temporarily disable access. Select the mailbox and choose Suspend; choose Unsuspend (or Restore) to re-enable it.

Delete a mailbox

Deleting a mailbox permanently removes the mailbox and all of its stored messages. This cannot be undone. Back up any needed messages first.

  1. Select the mailbox and choose Delete.
  2. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
