Setting Up Email Forwarding on an Enom Domain

Email forwarding sends mail addressed to one address on your domain (for example, info@yourdomain.com) to a different destination mailbox, without requiring a hosted mailbox. On Enom, email forwarding is free on any domain that uses Enom's DNS. This article shows you how to set up a forward.

How email forwarding works

A forward maps a source address on your domain to a destination address anywhere. When mail arrives for the source, it is relayed to the destination. Because forwarding does not store mail, it is well suited to personal use and informal communication rather than as a full mailbox replacement.

Before you begin

  • Your domain must be hosted at Enom and using Enom's DNS/nameservers. Free email forwarding requires Enom DNS.
  • Have the source address (on your domain) and the destination address ready.

Step 1: Open the forwarding settings

  1. Sign in to your Enom account.
  2. Open Email & Apps and locate the email forwarding settings for your domain.

Step 2: Add a forward

  1. Choose to add a new forward.
  2. Enter the source address — the address on your domain that should receive mail.
  3. Enter the destination address — where the mail should be delivered.
  4. Save the forward.

When a recipient receives a forwarded message and replies, the reply comes directly from the destination address — it cannot be white-labeled to appear as your domain. For this reason, forwarding is best suited to personal use and informal communication. A catch-all forward may also be available to route all unmatched addresses to a single destination.
