Set Up Enom Email on iPhone and Android

Enom's hosted email works on most mobile devices using standard IMAP or POP settings. This article walks you through adding your Enom email account to the Mail app on iOS and to a mail app on Android, building on the generic mail-client settings.

IMAP and POP on mobile

IMAP keeps your mail on the server and syncs changes across every device, which is ideal for phones and tablets. POP downloads mail to a single device and is generally not recommended when you also use webmail or other devices. The same server hostnames and ports apply on mobile as on a desktop mail client.

Before you begin

Have the following ready:

  • Your full email address and password. If you are unsure of the password, sign in to the webmail portal first to confirm it.
  • The incoming and outgoing server settings. For the authoritative values, see Settings for Your Mail Client.

The current Enom mobile server settings are below.

Server hostname

Port

Incoming (IMAP)mail.enom.comSSL: 993 / Non-SSL: 143
Incoming (POP)mail.enom.comSSL: 995 / Non-SSL: 110
Outgoing (SMTP)mail.enom.comSSL: 465 / Non-SSL: 25 or 587

Step 1: Set up on iOS (Mail app)

  1. Open Settings and tap Mail.
  2. Tap Accounts, then Add Account.
  3. Tap Other, then Add Mail Account.
  4. Enter your name, full email address, password, and a description, then tap Next.
  5. Select IMAP (recommended) at the top.
  6. Under Incoming Mail Server, enter host name mail.enom.com with your email address as the user name and your password.
  7. Under Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), enter host name mail.enom.com. Enter your email address and password here as well — although iOS labels these optional, the account cannot send mail without them.
  8. Tap Next, then Save.

On iOS, the outgoing SMTP user name and password are required even though the device marks them optional. Without them, you will not be able to send email.

Step 2: Set up on Android

  1. Open your mail app and go to Settings > Add account.
  2. Choose Other or Personal (IMAP) when prompted for account type.
  3. Enter your full email address and tap Next, then choose IMAP (recommended).
  4. Enter your password.
  5. For the incoming server, enter server mail.enom.com, port 993, and security type SSL/TLS.
  6. For the outgoing server, enter server mail.enom.com, port 465 with SSL/TLS (or 587), and confirm that sign-in is required, using your full email address and password.
  7. Finish the setup and confirm the account syncs.

Use IMAP rather than POP on mobile. IMAP keeps your mail synced across your phone, tablet, and computer; POP downloads messages to one device and removes them from the server's view of other clients.
